  • Recipe & Meal Creation: Use one or more items from our curated list below, combined with fresh fruits or vegetables, to craft your unique recipe, snack, or meal idea for the contest. Feel free to get creative! For example, if your recipe needs applesauce, include instructions on how to prepare it from scratch using apples and water (no cinnamon, please!).
  • Water Safety: Always test your water to ensure lead levels are below 1 ppb. Use our recommended testing kits or consult your county health department for free testing options.
  • Submission Process: Send your recipe, snack, or meal idea to Tamara@LeadSafeMama.com with the subject line “April 2025 Giveaway.” Make sure to follow the instructions on the graphic at the top of this page.
  • Deadline: Entries close at 11:59 p.m. PST on April 30, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
  • Note on Ingredients: Only the items listed below, which have been lab-tested and verified as safer choices, should be used. Do not include processed or store-bought dried fruits or vegetables, as they often test positive for toxicants. Our goal is to identify low-toxicant foods and snacks utilizing our trusted list.
  • Lab-Tested Safer Food Items: Out of 26 options, 24 tested non-detect for Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, and Arsenic after third-party independent laboratory testing. The remaining two tested trace levels, which are considered safe by current standards. You can verify the reports by searching the brand names on our website.
