I have to say that when I first saw the somewhat cheesy packaging and the plastic shell, I was skeptical. However, this newfangled grinder invented by two old guys works great!
The grinder kind of works like starting a lawn mower. Inside are razor-sharp blades. You place the cannabis inside, put on the lid, and pull the cord. Doing so causes the blades to spin, chopping the cannabis in the process.
If you like your cannabis coarsely ground, a few spins are all it takes. If you like your cannabis ground finely, just keep pulling the cord until the grind is to your liking. The clear lid makes it easy to see what’s going on inside.
When it comes time to clean, turn the Bud Wakker upside down to remove the rotating blades for easy cleaning. Another permanently attached blade, along with the inside of the grinder, is easily cleaned with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab.

What can be improved?
Ideally, I would like a sturdier metal grinder housing, as the plastic could eventually break. That said, it gets the job done and it is sturdier than it first appears. With such a low price point, I can’t really complain. From a marketing perspective, I do think the brothers would do themselves a favor by hiring a professional packaging designer, but this does not affect the product’s functionality. I guess what I am trying to say is, the product is better than its look and box might lead you to believe.
Like any other grinder, you need to remove tough stems before grinding, but the Bud Wakker is more sensitive than most in this regard. This is not a big deal, but it is something to be aware of.
Conclusion
I initially did not think I would like this grinder, but I was wrong. And the more I use it, the more I like it. It’s neat, easy, inexpensive, and works well. My friends concur. It has become everyone’s favorite around the Cannabis Cheri headquarters!
