As we have long suspected and now confirmed through independent, community-driven third-party laboratory testing coordinated by Lead Safe Mama, LLC, the Bryan Johnson Blueprint Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (shown above) has tested positive for hazardous levels of Lead, Cadmium, and Arsenic. Our ongoing testing initiative, which is crowd-funded and transparent, has consistently revealed that many cocoa-based products, including dark and milk chocolates, contain measurable amounts of toxic heavy metals. To date, none of the cocoa powders tested have been free of these contaminants.

If you’ve been regularly consuming this product under the belief of its health benefits, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider for testing—either blood tests for Lead or urine tests for heavy metals. Chronic exposure to such toxicants can lead to serious health issues over time. Cadmium, in particular, is a well-documented carcinogen, and anyone with a family history of cancer should reconsider regular intake of products testing positive for Cadmium.
