When is the best time to start my outdoor cannabis garden? Thank you!
While you can plant an indoor garden anytime, the best time to start your outdoors cannabis garden will depend on where you live.
The biggest factor is frost and ultra low temperatures. You want to wait until any possibility of frost has passed (we did a separate post on frost and cannabis plants here). With so much climate unpredictability, that is getting harder to do, but that is the biggest factor.
That said, the earlier you get those plants in the ground, the better your chances of growing monster plants.
So, if you live in a place that’s more prone to cold, what you can do is start your plants indoors to get a head start on growing, then transfer them outdoors once you are sure there is no longer a threat of frost.
Mitch talks more about this in the video above, but essentially you can start the plants and keep them on a sunny windowsill, then transplant them outdoors in May or June or whenever it gets warm enough where you live. This will allow you to start your garden with plants that are already 10 to 12 inches tall.
